3rd Annual Fall Fishing Clinic
After registration the kids made their way to each educational booth we setup. They made earrings out of spinner blades, learned how to tie knots, how to identify baits and lures, how to identify fish species by painting them. They also made their own mini spinner baits, then tied their first fly, before fishing they each took part in a casting lesson and then they were off!
It didn't take long before the screams started and fish were coming in left and right. The kids really got a kick out of fishing the clear water and being able to see the fish bite and fight as they reeled them in.
Thanks to Tingley Beach for having us, Charlies Sporting Goods for donating all the goodies for the kids, and Ti Piper for helping us gather the materials necessary to operate the educational booths. A huge thanks to the Chapter Members that came down to help! You guys are awesome and we couldn't have done it without you. The kids had a blast, I'm not sure who's more excited about next years event; us or them? Photos will be posted in the Photogallery soon.

2010 Fishing Regulations Still In Effect!

A 1 fish per day, 40" minimum harvest will be allowed beginning the 2010 fishing season (April 1st). Our Chapter is now going to refocus our attention to this matter on trying to create a required-free "muskie permit" so the state can have a better idea what the number of anglers targeting these trophy fish in NM are, how often, etc..
